Invitations Part Two | |
| I took it for granted how difficult it was to have the right phrasing and follow proper etiquette. Take the difficulty of creating a standard invitation in English and multiply that by three! Why three? One, English invitation is hard. Two, Chinese invitation is hard. Three, Chinese invitation is VERY hard when Tommy and I don't read Chinese. Actually, it should be three and a half because the RSVP portion is driving me nuts. I didn't think I would put this much work into the invitations. Simple, clear, with our names spelled correctly... that's all I wanted. But now, I'm looking at love quotes, painstakingly arranging the spacing of my lines, and re-phrasing everything at least a dozen times. Did you know even capitalization is an issue? I want to offer humongous props to Tommy's father for researching and helping us pick the printer and to my mother for helping me fix the Chinese portion of the invitation so that it ended up being more lovely than the English portion. | |
