Our Wedding Blog
Update from the Bride | |
| We've picked out our wedding bands. I've stamped and stuffed 85% of the invitations. (to be mailed early May, so be patient!) I bought Dr. Scholl's heel liners for my wedding shoes. My MOH and bridesmaids ensembles are covered. Honeymoon is all finally paid off. We've scheduled cake tastings. This weekend: photography. Still to come: dress, tuxes, flowers, and cake. It's a long road. But a pleasant one, now that I'm over the panic phase of my planning. I wish I had advice for other brides-to-be, suggestions, tips, things like that. But I don't... Unless you want my sample Excel sheets where I budgeted and itemized everything. Hmmm, I suppose that'd be my biggest advice. Budget. In my opinion, you'll end up going over your budget (as we are), but it'll definitely keep you in check. And of course, there are tons of websites that have to-do lists and budgeting calculators, but I found them clunky and unmanageable. Too time consuming to have to log into a website just to adjust tasks, which often lists numerous things I don't need or want to spend money on. They're good early guides, for dunces like me, but ultimately, I had to use my own bare bones list that I could access at any time. So there it is. My advice. Budget. Then fret when you're over the budget. And finally give up and enjoy yourself. Wish us luck on the photographer. | |
