Here are the details. We are meeting at the Courtyard Atlantic City by 6 PM. This is where the Limo will meet us for an evening of debauchery and badmash! As it stands, I only booked 2 rooms, mainly because we will not spend more than a few hours of time here! (The majority of which will be in the AM, call it recovery time for the drive home!)

MONEY BREAK DOWN! Hotel $80 Limo $50 Approximate other costs Dinner $40 Club/Drinks $40 Gambling $200 Bail $1000 Seriously, I am still waiting on the limo companies to call back, so I don't have an exact cost for the limos yet. I'd approximate $150 is a conservative amount to bring, but $200 should be a safe bet, not including gambling/drinking costs. I will be bringing some bottles with me for the limo. Attire, I'd go with shoes not sneakers. Casual works, but don't dress like a bum.

MANDAP ROPAN & GRAH SHANTI

The Ganesh puja, mandap ropan puja, followed by the ritual of Pithi (Sandal, turmeric n other stuff paste) and Grah shanti puja will be held the day before the wedding at home. Luch will be served after the ceremonies.

CHUDA CEREMONY

Further Information

The "chuda" ceremony begins with a "havan" or "puja" performed by the pandit. The oldest mama and mami (or those performing this ceremony) keep a fast till chuda. The chuda, i.e., the set of cream and red ivory bangles, is not shown to the girl just before the ceremony. After the puja everybody present is supposed to touch the chuda, in a manner of offering their good wishes to the girl.

married ladies from the groom's family tie the 'pagadi' or turban, the 'sehra' or floral veil, which covers the groom's face, put 'shagun' in his 'jholi' or lap and bless the groom. The 'shagun' usually consists of a red 'dupatta', dried coconut and dried dates or 'chuaare'.
