Steve & Stephanie

Our Story

How We Met

Steve and Stephanie met at work on July 11, 2007 at PricewaterhouseCoopers. They were both right out of college with plenty of job offers. Neither Steve or Stephanie had planned on taking the job offer at PwC, but at the last minute, they both changed their minds and decided to take the job at PwC.

During their first year at PwC, they were working in different locations and never saw each other during work hours. But, during their second year, they got put on the same year-long project and worked one desk away from each other. They always joke that if they were able to tolerate each other during busy season when they worked 70 or more hours a week together, then they could get through just about anything!

Our First Date

About a month or so after Steve and Stephanie met, they went on their first date to the Cheesecake Factory in King of Prussia. They ate outside and had a great time, but Stephanie remembers having a little difficulty concentrating as there was a huge insect flying over their table all night and she was scared she would get stung and ruin the whole night. The next time Steve and Stephanie went back to the Cheesecake Factory was two years later on the night they got engaged!

The Proposal

On Friday July 10th, 2009, which was the day before they had met 2 years ago, Steve proposed.

Stephanie told Steve previously how much she disliked surprises, so instead, he decided to trick her.
He told her earlier in the week that he had a present for her on Friday. She was almost positive he was talking about a ring since it was their anniversary, but she did not tell him that she thought it was a ring. However, she did tell all of her friends and mom.

After work that day, he told her he wanted to go eat dinner at The Cheesecake Factory (the place where they had their first date). At this point, she knew the present had to be a ring.

As she was driving to dinner, he handed her the surprise. It was a piece of paper. She opened it up and saw that it was concert tickets. She was quite disappointed. Although it was a nice present, it was not the present she was hoping for.

The rest of the car ride to dinner was pretty much silent. When they got to dinner she was getting more upset and was not shy about showing it at all. He continued to torture her the entire dinner telling her that he was sorry she was disappointed, but he did not have a ring and the thought never came across his mind.

On the car ride home, Steve saw how disappointed she was and pulled over to a park and stopped the car. He FINALLY handed her the ring and asked Stephanie to marry him! It was definitely the happiest moment of both of their lives!
