Once Upon A Time

Most of our story was recounted in our Bride and Groom entries, but just in case you wanted an entertaining story....

Once upon a time, there was a freckled, brown eyed, smart maiden who lived in Carteret County. She was always warned by her grandfather that her prince charming laid in wait, and would one day make himself known. He would open doors, talk sweetly, fight any enemies, and treat her like a princess. Of course the ever impatient princess tried hanging out with some toads that seemed like they had potential, but alas, none proved to be the prince charming that was promised by her wise grandfather. One day, after the maiden decided to move to another land far away with a different pond, and different toads, a suitor showed up via facebook and invited her to a baseball game at ECU. However, she did not know at the time that he was her PC. But it did not take long before she recognized that her Prince Charming was in disguise: a polo and khaki's kind of southern guy who liked to hunt and watch sports, and drove a black Dodge Ram. Not exactly the package she had ever considered, but he opened her doors, treated her like a lady, was always considerate and very generous. Didn't hurt that he was a handsome PC :) FINALLY! He had arrived, there was no question in her mind about locking him down for the rest of their lives. But, happily-ever-after didn't involve a pushy maiden and so she had decided not to say anything and wait for him to be a smart PC (but there weren't any clear laws about no hinting :). Thank goodness he was a VERY smart guy. He contrived the most magical evening of a scavenger hunt followed by a wonderful dinner and a beautiful setting complete with flowers, wine and rose petals in which he popped the question. So they have been madly in love ever since, awaiting the day where they can be wed and live Happily Ever After. 12/19/2010.
